Point fixe : x∗x_* est pt fixe si g(x∗)=x∗g(x_*) = x_* ; si x0=x∗x_0 = x_* ⇒\Rightarrow suite cst.

Chap VIII — Continuite

Definition

D⊂RD \subset \mathbb{R} ouvert, f:D→Rf : D \to \mathbb{R} continue en x0x_0 si :

lim⁡x→x0f(x)=f(x0)\lim_{x \to x_0} f(x) = f(x_0)

Si la limite n’existe pas ou est differente de f(x0)f(x_0), alors ff est discontinue.

Fonctions elementaires continues

  • polynomes : continus sur R\mathbb{R}
  • sin⁡\sin et cos⁡\cos : continus sur R\mathbb{R} ; tan⁡\tan : continue sur R∖{π/2+kπ∣k∈Z}\mathbb{R} \setminus \{\pi/2 + k\pi \mid k \in \mathbb{Z}\}
  • axa^x, ∀a>0\forall a > 0 : continue sur R\mathbb{R}
  • log⁡a(x)\log_a(x), ∀a>0\forall a > 0 : continue sur R∗+\mathbb{R}^+_*

Continuite laterale

  • ff continue a gauche : lim⁡x→x0−f(x)=f(x0)\displaystyle\lim_{x \to x_0^-} f(x) = f(x_0)
  • ff continue a droite : lim⁡x→x0+f(x)=f(x0)\displaystyle\lim_{x \to x_0^+} f(x) = f(x_0)

Thm : ff est continue ssi elle est continue a gauche et a droite.

Continuite sur un intervalle compact

f:[a,b]→Rf : [a,b] \to \mathbb{R} continue sur :

  • continue en tout x0∈ ]a,b[x_0 \in \,]a, b[
  • continue a droite en x0=ax_0 = a
  • continue a gauche en x0=bx_0 = b

Thm : soit f:[a,b]→Rf : [a,b] \to \mathbb{R} continue ⇒\Rightarrow ff est bornee.

Thm : f:[a,b]→Rf : [a,b] \to \mathbb{R} continue ⇒\Rightarrow ff atteint son max et son min.

Valeurs intermediaires

f:[a,b]→Rf : [a,b] \to \mathbb{R} continue, f(a)<f(b)f(a) < f(b) :

∀h:f(a)<h<f(b)⇒∃c∈ ]a,b[ t.q. f(c)=h\forall h : f(a) < h < f(b) \Rightarrow \exists c \in \,]a,b[ \text{ t.q. } f(c) = h

⇒\Rightarrow un polynome a coefficients reels de degre impair possede au moins une racine reelle

Thm : f:[a,b]→Rf : [a,b] \to \mathbb{R}. Im(f)(f) est donnee par : Im(f)=[min⁡f(x), max⁡f(x)]\text{Im}(f) = [\min f(x),\, \max f(x)]

Prolongement

x0∈Ix_0 \in I, I′:=I∖{x0}I' := I \setminus \{x_0\} : si lim⁡x→x0f(x)=L\displaystyle\lim_{x \to x_0} f(x) = L existe, alors on peut definir f(x0):=Lf(x_0) := L

Continuite et calcul de limite

lim⁡f(g(x))\lim f(g(x)) avec g(x)→y0g(x) \to y_0 et ff continue en y0y_0 :

lim⁡f(g(x))=f ⁣(lim⁡g(x))=f(y0)\lim f(g(x)) = f\!\left(\lim g(x)\right) = f(y_0)
